Our Story
Our members are committed to providing programs and opportunities for the community that focuses on educating both children and adults to be powerful stewards and advocates for the Catoctin forest region. We are asking for your support in providing funding to start a summer conservation jobs corps for local youth from Frederick City who would not otherwise have access to experience and nurture a desire to pursue a career in the natural resources field. The program is designed to serve students ages 14-17, providing them with job and life skills in an outdoor setting. Members will help complete projects on public lands, including trail maintenance, tree planting, invasive plant removal, park maintenance, and other related projects. They will have access to fun enrichment opportunities, such as fishing trips, camping, and excursions to other parks in Maryland to learn what makes our state so unique.
